As a 'mas maker', masquerader, and steelpan aficionado with 43 years of experience, de Lima is well-versed in the nuances of carnival arts and culture. His passion for these aspects of the festival is evident in his commitment to evolving the Toronto Caribbean Carnival into the best in the world.

In his new position, de Lima will be responsible for managing the overall operations of Festival Management Committee (FMC), the parent organization that owns and operates the Carnival. He has expressed his desire to work collaboratively with key stakeholders in the Mas, Pan, and Calypso communities to forge strong relationships that will drive the festival's success.
